---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A new year gonna be here in approximately 7 hrs 10 mins time. I'm here to recall every bits and pieces of thoughts and what I've been through for 2005....
I had pretty much enjoyed 2005. It has been a good year for me, considering the amount of good over the bad. I spent the first quarter of the year struggling to complete the final semester of my studies. It was really hectic, especially FYP, meetings ongoing everyday, churning ASP codes till late everynight. But it definitely pays off when you see your project comes to live and was commended. Though not to the extend of being chosen to be presented in front of hundreds, but still we were glad everything went smoothly and yes, its all over.
After graduation, went into depression. I shan't blog that out as it was blogged a few days ago. Besides I fell so badly. All thanks for lian and en, I finally picked myself up and continue to move on after. The HK trip was a memorable trip. First I wanted to get out of all the unhappiness revolving around me, take a breather and chill out without my parents for first time in 19 years of my life. Plus, it was a lonely flight to and fro HK, due to the fact of my cousin's wedding, I can't fly with Melis & Ariel on time. Nonetheless, I felt a sense of acheivement for being independent enough. The trip was a fantastic one - the food, shopping, weather (ooo, I like).
Next, I decided to sign up with MOE as a relieve teacher. To gain some valuable experience of what handling a class of 40 is like, earn some EASY cash and make good use of free time. It was a great experience, and somehow I'm keen in joining the teaching career, well, after chasing my SIA dream. Kids can be mischevious, but there are times when they are deary too. The bonding, the respect I gain just after a short 2 weeks with my so called "form" class, is unforgettable. So, erjie, I think you have chosen a right path. I bet you will love it. Its all about patients and learning to enjoy.
Went on to join back the Saffron family after my relieve assignment. I'm beginning to enjoy the market research line too. Learnt so much, especially with the role as a Quantitative Data Processor, seen so much fantastic products launched into the market, of course, got closer with the saffroners. Finally I left after a short 3 months of stay with them, and for my hardwork, I was given $200 bonus on top of my pay cheque. That kind of feeling is indescriable. Its like a form of recognition. And of course, that $200 somehow ended up in some shopping malls & restaurants. haha!
During that working phase in Saffron, I went for a short Bangkok trip with lian, ting and shuhui. So much fun and started to love BKK more than HK. Perhaps, the people there, the many friendly faces, just make the place stand out. Things are awfully cheap, I just love to go back there.
To: Ting, Lian. I won't forget our 199 trip de. The mad photo-taking incident, our daily breakfast and the ah bird singer. Haha. Its our first trip and hope we'll have chance to visit further places in near future.
9th September: The next stage of my life starts. Its a torture to leave my parents, my friends, with my pink IC retained for the next 2 years and say goodbye to civilisation. I'm just counting down the days to graduation parade. But slowly, I began to learn alot about myself. Besides the military skills and knowledge imparted from the commanders, its also about learning to love my parents, siblings and friends more. Though the amount of time spent with my friends dropped drastically, you guys should know that I'm still hanging there with you guys and I'm always here if you guys ever need a listening ear. Back to the topic about family, I guess I'm more family oriented now. I make the effort to wake up early every sunday morning for breakfast with them. Some may feel that "Aiya, breakfast only", but these are the little and simple gestures and effort that please them.
PS: Learn to treasure and love the people who's around you. There's a reason why they are there. I still remember what my chinese teacher told us on the last day of my sec school life, "neng zai yi qi, ye shuan shi yi zong yuan fen".
3 weeks ago: Finally passed out from BMT. I know its contradicting, you can't wait to leave that island when you're there. But when you're posted to new unit, you just start to miss those "tekong" days. Now that I'm learning to be a technician, got to work hard. These few days I've been struggling with engineering terms and getting all the facts into my brain. Gosh~ The fact that I don't come from an engineering course, makes me a little nervous and a bit of dumb in the platoon of 10. 8 of them have engineering background. Deep shit.
So that's more or less about it for 2005. Quite a happening and memorable year for me.
Now for 2006 resolution:
1) To earn more money. With more money, you can do alot of things.
2) To make sure the whole of 2006 is well spent. Maybe I can join some language classes and keep reading to keep my brain cells working. NS can make your brain malfunction. I'm serious! Besides, I'm suffering from a short term memory loss.
3) Overseas trip: I'm looking at 2 trips next year. Mid 2006 and end of 2006. So got to work hard and save!!
4) My 21st Birthday - I don't want to have an ordinary celebration like holding a Chalet or having a Buffet at home. Perhaps something interesting and memorable. Help me think can?
5) I'm keen to hold a reunion for my NPCC squad next year. Its gonna be a chore and alot of trouble. But to think about it, its almost 4 years after everyone go their own way.
6) Continue to be a good boy and a good friend.
7) Forget about all the heartless friend (also known as sister) No use hating them also. And its the first time in my life, I developed such hatred. Just f*** off from my life and my friends' life. You don't deserve to be here neither do you deserve to be called a friend. Perhaps F***ker suits you best!
*You just have to use the f word to convey this deadly message!
8) If new unit permits (stay out), I want to start to learn driving. I'm beginning to realise the importance of having a driving license, plus the having you own car. Car is impossible, unless i strike lottery lo. A step at a time.
9) Continue to become well build. I realise my little muscles trained in BMT is starting to get a bit saggy! Do away with all those tanning session, it will only worsen your skin condition plus its so "sister" lo. Haha! Its best to have natural tann while exercising. Talking of which, maybe its time to start learning roller blading. My bro's blade must be feeling so neglected. =)
10) Pray that everyone will be happy, stay healthy and have a good 2006. I pray for myself, good health (I need it for my heart), stay happy, hippy and lively.
EVERYONE, HAPPY 2006!
